You will learn something new about @sketchmarkersclub, namely its paper line - a set of paper pads with different kinds of paper: ranging from 75 gsm to 300 gsm.
Today I will be frank about mentioning the pros and cons, and in the end we will summarize everything.
What is the first thing that attracts your attention? The сover! Each album has its own cover, which is quite bright and classic at the same time. I think it will suit everyone's taste.
I started with 160gsm paper and I was pleasantly surprised by its texture. It wasn't smooth at all, like my usual paper, but surprisingly I loved this album the most because of:
- Warm ivory color;
- Very nice texture of the paper;
- Each sheet can be conveniently torn off and it does not ruin the entire paper pad;
- Endures repeated torture with an eraser;
- Convenient back hardcover. You can draw anything you want on your laps;
The following qualities surprised me because @sketchmarkersclub decided to challenge stereotypes:
- Does not consume a large amount of ink, even though this paper is thick and textured;
- Ink does not smudge or smear;
However, there are some disadvantages. To tell the truth, there is only one:
The front cover is not convenient enough. It is too delicate. If you carry the pad regularly with you, the sheets will wear out and can easily be torn, but at the same time the sheets will become dirty without it. However, if you use this paper pad only as a source of separate sheets, then the disadvantage disappears.
Conclusion: I’ve become dependent on the Mixed media pro pad (160 gsm) and the worn-out cover doesn't diminish the pleasure of drawing in it.
You will also see the results of my experiments with 300 gsm paper. You will definitely love it.
